Sketchbook

I got this beautiful new sketchbook to take to Savannah. Since we aren't going on that trip I took it to the coast and said to myself "I'm just going to do whatever I want in that sketchbook". And... if I don't like something I'll just paint over it, and when I get to the end I'll turn the book over and paint on the backsides! (I'm not sure why I had to be so adamant about all this)
Most of my sketchbooks are make from junk paper with homemade covers so this book was a treat to put some marks in.

and... I'll be silly if I want to be and paint anything I want, even vampires.
In between big creative insights (what are those?) I think just having fun leads a person to some places. Vampires... sex and danger. I so enjoyed the Sookie Stackhouse series, funny, fluff and total pleasure.
This type of reading is like eating a batch of cookies, and if you know me you know how  much I love cookies!

Home from the coast

We just spent a week at the coast. It was VERY cold!
It snowed and hailed and froze.

Oscar the kitty chose indoor viewing of the pea sized hail.

 A long hailstorm...

A few sun breaks for a walk with Monty.
I forgot his coat so he wore one of my shirts!

blub, blub

I seem to have lost the ability to express myself in writing lately.
I'm not sure I have a lot to say.
I think I'll call this the discovery phase. I'm sort of flopping around artistically trying this and that.
I am making some good bus drawings. The EMX from my job to the other hospital is functioning and I get 22 uninterrupted minutes to draw. Unexpected  work benefit.
Hope you all are well. Send snow photos!

Life at 3:30 am

I have some rotty, cruddy, coughing virus and can't sleep.
These two little paintings are 6"x6" and are for the 6x6 show at the Oregon Artists' Alliance fundraiser. All the paintings will be hung and sold for 30 dollars each.
It should be a fun show with all of them hung.

Good friends...

We stopped by Aggie and Toby's on an errand and Toby gave me these beautiful earrings she made for me! It was so wonderful to get an unexpected present. It made my week which wasn't going so well. It's getting better now...
Thanks Toby!
