learning to carve...

Linda G. and I are taking a woodblock print making class at MECCA. I love MECCA. Fun being there after hours, I wander out of the class and just look and look at things.
This is my block. I bit off way more than I could chomp on. Little bitty lines.
By the time I get ready to print this I will have practiced a lot. A lot. It's very relaxing to carve, until you make a big mistake!

Have you ever seen a dream walking?

I took a nap this afternoon. When I woke up I looked at  the beautiful green leaves. I couldn't stop thinking of this song... why?
I think songs that come into your mind are there for a reason.
When I was small a cartoon sang this over and over on TV.
I've been thinking a bit out of the box lately.
Trying to listen when my brain is inspired like this.

"Something very strange and mystic happened to me
Something realistic and as weird as can be
Something that i feared somehow is now endeared to me
And what a funny feeling odd and yet so true
Did a thing like this ever happen to you?"

Simon's Heart

 Paw
 Not sure where...
Ear

We spent most of last Friday in Corvallis at the doggie cardiologist.
Simon has a grade 5/6 heart murmur and needed tests so the vet could medicate him.
Lots of vet students listened to his heart and he is now on cardiac medications. (same as humans) You would never know that he has a problem, he is sweet and mischievous as usual.

Finished!

Large (r) painting #2 (22"x24")
I'm pretty happy. I can't tell you what it means, but it all makes sense somehow.
On another topic, do you have a favorite Broadway musical?

Done

"Monty"   22"x24"

I have six 22"x24" panels. I'm pushing myself to paint larger. This is the first panel I've completed.
It's hard to transition from one way of working to another. For me there isn't instant success. But, there is discovery, and challenge. Both make me feel alive.
