A treasure
My friend Kati gave me the most incredible gift... a 1949 Sears catalogue in pristine condition. Don't you want this linoleum? It is such an idea generator, I love looking at all the sections. Will not be cutting it up though, color xerox only.
Thank you Kati and thank you Dean for bringing it to me.
LOVE YOU!
Why do all the women on this page look like they just walked out of the lesbian bar, not too late in the evening though as they are all spinster school teachers?

Trials...
Upon return from our Florida trip we tried to go to the coast for two weeks in our little trailer. Good idea to get out of the pollen. But June at the coast isn't so great... it was cold and rained all of day #2. And we took Monty, and it was too cold for him to sleep in the car as planned so we all tried to fit into the bed. Yikes! G and I were so cranky at the end of three days we just decided to come home and brave the pollen here. The only being who had a good time was Simon (see above)
ok... topic number two, rejection. I applied for a Playa residency and didn't get in. I really wanted to get in. I wanted to go there because it is beautiful and I'm an Oregon artist and there are so few Oregon programs. I thought I might not have a good chance because everyone there and at Sitka where I applied too seems to be ecology/nature focused. Since I have just started doing this in the last 3 years I bump up against letting acceptance or rejection define how I feel in the moment. I could also use some input... feeling like I need some feedback. Maybe I'll set myself up a formal critique and have yummy snacks for those who come. Would you like to come?
Have I said I love my studio lately?

Florida
So... G and I were in Florida for two weeks visiting G's family. It is a loooonnnngggg plane trip to Florida, and for me many opportunities to experience plane anxiety. I wish I could remind myself that this massive sculpture is waiting in the baggage area of the Jacksonville airport. I think it's amazing. It represents 6 rivers including the St. John's in florida. When you get up close the stamps are beautiful. What a gem, although I still don't need to fly in a plane for at least a year or so.
More on the trip... just want to say how GOOD it was to see brother Dean and Sis Sandy, G's mom, and all the family. Love you!
Bye...
Before we went to Florida I got to say goodbye to my dear friend Linda.
We had such good art times together.
I made her these little paintings. They are small about 2"x2".
Bye... I'm so glad your new life feels so good!
