These are little paintings (4"x4") that I had a lot of fun making. I'm trying to get out my art out in the world more and will have a table of my paintings this Friday at "Artist's Alley". Location is Broadway and Willamette, from 5:30-8:30pm during the First Friday Art Walk. Come by and say hi, I'd love that!

Hi!
I am reaching out of my isolation art cocoon.
First,
I submitted a piece to the Mayor's Art Show. (And I'm going to do my
best not to get all wiggy about not getting in and going off on the
"everyone hates me tangent")
I got to
the studio today at 0830 and had a very long and productive day. How
wonderful it was to spend some time in the afternoon looking at my
books.

"And what is it that you are doing?"
No title yet... 22"x28" on board
I love, love, love, my studio and I love my art practice, so that's just a fact. Apart from that a few things have come up....
1. I'm kind of lonely for feedback and just other artists. Solitude is wonderful, but so is collaboration. I need to get out into the art world so suggestions are helpful here.
2. When you are alone insecurities are like a bunch of icky gnats that won't leave me alone. But... when something works then it's like I'm full of bug spray. It can be a little thing, something that makes the painting click that had eluded me for days.
3. Art supplies are so expensive. I spent 60 dollars today on two jars of medium.
4. Maybe I ought to write here more often because now I can't remember anything else profound.
I just want to tomorrow come so I can work some more.

The paint won't dry
I can't get to my computer, so no photos for a few days. We decided to make my old studio into an office and painted the floor a beautiful chocolate brown. So far so good. The first coat took over a week to dry and hopefully the second coat will dry in a few more days. I never had paint act like that before. So I can't get to my computer... it's probably good to take a break from your computer, right?

Small paintings
These small paintings (5"x7") were created from drawings made on our trip to Florida and Georgia. Recognize the cute woman above?
I'm using up all the odd scraps of wood panel I have.
I like this guy a lot. Weird fingers make me happy.
Pollen is making me very tired and poor Ginger has bronchitis. Despite pollen pollution, we persevere.
